Barge Fuel Surcharge Changes
Dear Span Alaska Customer,
Due to ongoing extraordinary market conditions, Alaska Marine Lines has announced an increase to its previously published fuel surcharge. In alignment with this update, Span Alaska will adjust its fuel surcharge (FSC) accordingly.
Effective April 5, 2026, the fuel surcharge (FSC) for shipments to and from Central Alaska will change to 26.5%. On the same day, the fuel surcharge for shipments to and from Southeast Alaska will change to 18.5%. These adjustments follow Alaska Marine Lines’ announced FSC updates, and Span Alaska will implement the same increases on that date.
Span Alaska will continue to monitor fuel cost changes and will communicate any future FSC adjustments as they occur. The most current FSC information is always available at www.spanalaska.com.
