We are pleased to announce that Matson Tacoma is returning from dry dock and will soon be re-entering Alaska service. Tacoma is the second of three D7 Alaska vessels to be refurbished, including installation of new exhaust scrubber equipment that dramatically reduces the carbon footprint of these vessels, with Anchorage scheduled to go to dry dock later this year.
The Consumer will also be going to her scheduled dry dock at the end of this month, with plans to return to the Alaska trade later this year while the Anchorage is out of service.
For your planning purposes, please note the following important scheduling details:
• The last voyage of Consumer before dry dock will depart from Tacoma on Friday, 5/27. MCN020N will call Anchorage on Tuesday, 5/31, Kodiak on Wednesday, 6/1, and Dutch Harbor on Friday, 6/3.
Please note Consumer will be going to dry dock directly from Dutch Harbor on this voyage so there will be no southbound freight from Anchorage, Kodiak, or Dutch Harbor on MCN020S.
• The first voyage of newly refurbished Tacoma will depart from Tacoma on Wednesday 6/8. MTC010N will call Anchorage on Sunday, 6/12 and Kodiak on Monday, 6/13.
