Dear Valued Customer,
Please be advised the Friday sailing, Matson Kodiak ‐ MKD246N, experienced a significant mechanical issue several hours after departing Tacoma and returned to the terminal for repairs, arriving Sunday afternoon. Repairs are still underway. Matson R.J. Pfeiffer is currently enroute to Tacoma, WA as a replacement until repairs are completed.
In response, Matson is enacting the following action plan to mitigate further delays:
- Cargo will offload from Matson Kodiak at the Tacoma terminal this evening and early morning.
- Matson R.J. Pfeiffer ‐ 530N will be loaded and is estimated to depart Tacoma tomorrow at 1200 Tuesday, July 25, with an ETA Anchorage of Friday evening, July 28.
- Matson R.J. Pfeiffer ‐ 530N will continue to Kodiak and Dutch Harbor before returning to Tacoma.
- Matson Kodiak is expected to be fully repaired later this week and will be standing by for its next scheduled northbound voyage, departing Wednesday evening, August 2.
We expect shipment deliveries from the Friday, July 21, sailing to be delayed into early next week. Consequently, this significant delay and vessel swap will also impact the timely delivery of shipments sailing this Wednesday, July 26, on Matson Anchorage – MAC241N. Delivery delays into next week should be expected but please know we are making adjustments to ensure all shipments are delivered as timely as possible under the current circumstances.
