December 22, 2023
Dear Valued Customer,
Please be advised that the Friday, December 22, Matson voyage MKD260N will be delayed for safety reasons due to severe weather anticipated on its voyage to Anchorage. The forecasted weather in the Gulf of Alaska will cause this vessel to depart Tacoma late, with the estimated departure now 6:00PM on Saturday, December 23, rather than the scheduled Friday departure.
Vessel operations are currently expected to start in Anchorage Wednesday evening, December 27, with cargo unloading to begin Thursday morning, December 28, at the Anchorage, Wasilla, and Kenai terminals. The majority of cargo unloading at the Fairbanks terminal will be delayed until Thursday evening.
As a result, shipment deliveries to the Anchorage, Wasilla/Palmer, Kenai, and surrounding areas from the Friday, December22, sailing will be delayed 24-48 hours. We anticipate a 48-hour delay for Fairbanks and Kodiak shipments. Please know we will make any necessary adjustments to ensure all shipments are delivered as timely as possible given the arrival delay.
