Dear Valued Customer,
Please be advised that Matson Anchorage – MAC251N was delayed into Anchorage due to inclement weather in the Gulf of Alaska. Additionally, severe weather conditions in Southcentral Alaska continue to significantly impact our delivery service in Anchorage, Wasilla/Palmer, Kenai, Kodiak, and surrounding areas.
Vessel operations did not start at the Port of Anchorage until 1400 Sunday afternoon, with container availability at 1530. Cargo unloading began late Sunday evening and continued into Monday morning at the Anchorage, Wasilla, and Kenai terminals. The vessel departed late for Kodiak at 0700 this morning.
As a result, shipment deliveries in Anchorage, Wasilla/Palmer, Kodiak and surrounding areas from the Wednesday, November 8, sailing will be delayed 24-48 hours. We also anticipate Fairbanks shipments may be delayed up to 24 hours due to inclement weather.
Additionally, we have received notice this afternoon from Matson that the Friday, November 10, sailing Matson Tacoma – 250N is delayed into Anchorage due to inclement weather that is causing strong headwinds and high seas. Currently we anticipate a 24 hour delay for shipments loaded to the Friday sailing. We will send another update if the expected delivery delays improve or worsen over the next 24 hours.
Please know we will make any necessary adjustments to ensure all shipments are delivered as timely as possible given the arrival delay and severe winter conditions. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this delay.
