Ship Service (Matson) from Anchorage to the Port of Tacoma: 8 – 9 day transit from sailing

  • Sailing departs Anchorage on Sunday each week

  • Deadline for pickup is noon on Thursday

  • Deadline for customer drop off at Span Alaska’s Anchorage Service Center is 3PM on Thursday

  • Freight is shipped using 40’/45′ containers and flatbeds

  • Expert logistics move your freight to its final Lower 48 (or Canadian) destination

Barge Service (AML) from Anchorage to the Port of Seattle: 12 – 15 day transit from sailing

  • At times a more economical option for volume shipments, barge departure is on Sundays

  • Deadline for freight arrival to Span’s Anchorage service center is noon on the Friday before the Sunday sailing

  • Barge service is a cost-effective alternative for non-time-sensitive items, as well as over-wide and over-height bulky items

  • Containers are 20′, 40′, or 53′ in length

We’ll send you an e-mail or fax on the morning after a sailing to confirm that your freight has sailed and to give you an estimated date of delivery. It’s available in two different formats and lists your supplier’s name, your purchase order number, shipment weight, and other details.
